Book review

What I can I say, I love this book to bits. Initially, I thought that it would be a passing trend for self-help genre. But no. There were compelling reasons why people flocked to the stores, or Amazon to get it. I chanced upon it in Phuket airport sometime last year to while the long waiting time in the boarding gate. And I have kept it since as a reference and ‘pick-me-up’ when distractions and obstacles get in the way of focus.

Don’t miss reading James Clear’s intro about his childhood stories and mapping the evolution of his personal ‘Atomic Habits’. It was inspiring to say the least.

Here are some of my personal highlights from the book where each one is like a nugget of gold – wisdom that speaks volumes about life’s successes, failures and transitions.

  • Changes that seem small and unimportant at first will compound into remarkable results if you’re willing to stick with them for years.
  • With the same habits, you’ll end up with the same results. But with better habits, anything is possible.
  • The goal is not to run a marathon but to become a runner.
  • Give your habits a place and a time such as meditation by the porch every 7am.
  • Improvements are only temporary until they become part of who you are.
So which habits would you like to work on? It can be as simple as making your bed every morning or taking up a new skill every month. 🙂
